Theme Day Thursday - Create a Critter

Hi everyone! Today is Theme Day Thursday for the Design Team! Today the theme is to create using the cartridge Create a Critter. This is one of my favorite cartridges!

The kite is from Create a Critter. I cut the kite a little over two inches. The flying high sentiment actually is from 3 Birds on Parade. I used glitter gel pens for the faux stitching around the kite and the sentiment. I used the Peachy Keen stamp for the face (from set PK 490). I embossed the cream background with the Sizzix texture boutique and a cuttle bug folder. I also added liquid pearls on the bows on the kite. The kite is affixed using pop up dots.

Please visit Erica's Craft Room to see what the other DT members have created!

I hope I have inspired you to become crafty!

Card Creating Tuesday - Spring Card

Hi everyone! Today is Card Creating Tuesday. Today the Design team makes cards around a certain theme. Since Spring is hours away, we were asked to make Spring cards.

I created this Spring card using the Art Philosophy cartridge from Close to My Heart. (If you want to purchase the Art Philosophy cartridge, you can go HERE. If you want to get it for FREE, go HERE). I cut both the egg shaped card and the decorative layer at 5 inches. I used the font on this cartridge and my Gypsy to weld the letters together. The letters were cut out at little over 1 1/2 inches. I cut two flowers using the same cartridge (one flower cut at 2 inches and the other at 3 inches. I inked the flowers and the "happy spring" sentiment with lavender ink. I used liquid pearls around the egg. I purchased the liquid pearls from Erica's shop. If you want to see other projects from the Design Team, visit Erica's Craft Room.

I hope I have inspired you to become more crafty!

Today I created this card using 3 Birds on Parade. I cut the "bunny" bird, the shadow and all of his layers at 3 inches. I used white paper (except for the black used for the shadow layer). I colored the cuts using my Copics. The background paper comes from the Mayberry paper pack from Close to My Heart

How I got into the Cricut World

Hi everyone!!! Today there is an awesome giveaway on Erica's Blog. For a chance to win, we have to discuss how we got into the "Cricut World"

My obsession started less than a year ago. I have been crafty for a while. I crocheted and knit for a number of years. I still do, just not as much. I also loved working with pretty papers and markers but I only did that during special occasions like birthdays and Christmas. Last year sometime before my summer break, I was watching HSN and saw the Cricut Expression. I saw all the possibilities and wanted to have one. However I didn't purchase it right away because of the price. During that time, I had just finished grad school. and wanted to treat myself to something for graduating with a 3.97 GPA. My husband encouraged me to buy it because I seldom treat myself to anything. (I bet he's sorry now, LOL). A few days later, I ordered an Expression bundle, and five days after that, I had my new toy!!!

I LOVE my Expression! Since getting my Expression, I have acquired a number of tools, LOTS of paper, ribbon, embellishments, and the Cricut Gypsy (which I also love!). I use my Expression for SO many things, including creating booklets and matching games for my students! Part of my office has slowly converted into a craft space. It's not as beautiful and elaborate as other crafting rooms/spaces, but it's my little piece of heaven (along with my iPod touch in it's docking station).

So that's my story of how I got into the Cricut world! And don't forget to post on Erica's Blog for a chance to win the exclusive Sophie cartridge!

Theme Day Thursday - Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 1

Hello everyone! Today is Theme Day Thursday and that means that we select a project to make based on a certain theme. Today the theme is Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 1.

This is the first project that I have created with this cart!  I absolutely LOVE all of the 3-D boxes, bags, purses, etc. available on this cart. There are soooooo many options. I am aware that this cart has long since retired, but I believe that TBBM1 may be available as a digital download to use with Cricut Craft Room. If you are unable to find this cart, Provo Craft did release TBBM 2 a couple weeks ago. I LOVE this cart as well and I am planning to make a few projects with it in the next few days!

Now on to the project!!!!

I cut out this cute popcorn box  from TBBM1 using my Gypsy. The paper comes from the Mayberry pack from Close to My Heart. The width is 11.69 and the height is 6.61. The word popcorn was welded together on the gypsy from the Plantin Schoolbook cart. The word popcorn measures 2.15 x 2.50. I cut out a couple popcorn shapes in white paper and inked it with Bamboo ink from Close to My Heart. The ticket stub comes from the Art Philosophy cart. (If you want to purchase this cart, you can get it HERE or if you would like to be able to get it for FREE you can go to this LINK).

Thanks for visiting! If you would like to see other projects similar to mine, visit Erica's Craft Room
I hope I have inspired you to become crafty!!!

Hi everyone! This is my project for the 100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop!

I used three cartridges for this cute little takeout box. I used Art Philosophy, Plantin Schoolbook and Lyrical letters. I cut the takeout box at 12 1/2 inches using the fit to page feature on the expression from the Art Philosophy cart. (If you want this cartridge you can purchase it HERE OR you can earn this FABULOUS cart for FREE from HERE).  I cut the roses from that cart as well at 3 inches. On my gypsy, I used Lyrical Letters to weld and cut the "4 you" sentiment. The sentiment was cut at 2 1/2 inches. The oval was cut from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The roses and the oval are adhered to the takeout box using pop up dots.

Thank you for visiting my blog! The next stop on the blog hop is

Theme Day Thursday - Simply Charmed

Hi everyone! Today is Theme Day Thursday and that means the design team creates something with a particular theme. Today the theme is Simply Charmed cartridge!

I cut the ice cream cone, the shadow and the layers all at 3 inches. The background paper comes from the Close to My Heart Mayberry Paper Pack.  The sentiment comes from the Love Life stamp set, also from Close to My Heart. (If you want the paper or stamp set, you can purchase it HERE). I used white opal Liquid Pearls to add a little dimension to the cone. You can see other projects like mine at Erica's Craft Room. I hope I  have inspired you to become more crafty!
