Kimberly's Spring Fling Blogaversary Hop! - Floral Wreath

  • "Welcome to Kim's Blogaversary. I'm tired of winter and thought it was time for a "spring fling"!!! All I asked for the crafters was to do something that reflects birth which is what spring means to me in pastel and floral colors!

We have a wonderful group of sponsors that want to have "Spring" too ..... I would ask that each of you take the time to stop and visit each one of the sponsors.  They have graciously donated their talent for this hop". Our sponsors are:

    1. Creative Kut ~ $10 gift Certificate (http://www.creativekuts.com/ )
    2. KaDoodle Bug Designs ~ $20 Gift Certificate (http://www.kadoodlebugdesigns.com/ )
    3. Mickie Burks Osman ~ a paper pack and some stamping goodies

    6. Scraptastical Kreations ~ $20 Gift Certificate (http://scraptasticalkreations.com/ )

There are a lot of great gardeners along the path, so this hop is two days, so, so sit back, relax and take your time browsing each garden. To be eligible for the blog candy, you must follow Kimberly’s blog.  Other bloggers may have additional requirements if they offer individual blog candy.

    Our wonderful line-up is:

  • I don't want you to miss a single spring project and want you to start at the beginning of spring at Kimberly (http://scrappingrookie.blogspot.com/). Then follow the list above. You should have just arrived from Audrey Dickinson  http://scrappyemt.blogspot.com.

Kim can hardly believe she been blogging and showcasing my crafts for a year now!!! I've grown just like spring and learned so much as I have traveled the crafting path.  I am sure you will be as impressed with the talent from these crafters as I am.

I cut out 140 flower flowers. Half are three inches and the other half are four inches. I rolled and secured the flowers with Liquid Glass, also from Close to My Heart. I inked the light pink flowers with tulip ink. I wrapped an 8" styrofoam wreath with pink satin ribbon. I secured the flowers to the wreath with pearl head straight pins. It took me a couple days to complete this wreath but I am VERY happy how it turned out!

Thank you for stopping by and remember "think spring" and have that "spring fling"!! Your next stop along the way on the garden path is:

Sunshine, Raindrop, and Rainbows and Flowers

Embossed Valentine's Day Gift Bag

Hi Everyone!

Today for Erica's Design Team one of the challenges was to use embossing powder on your project. I'm still relatively new to using embossing powder (this is only my third project using it), so I was eager to find a way to try to incorporate embossing into my project.

Using the Art Philosophy cartridge, I cut out the heart shaped 3D box. I cut it out at 12 inches using the fit to page feature. Using the same cartridge, I cut out three flowers using white paper - one at five inches and two at 3 inches. I inked the flowers using tulip ink from Close to My Heart. I used Stickles in Stardust around the edges of the flowers for a little blinged look. I used the Mad About You stamp set also from Close to My Heart and stamped the sentiment Happy Valentine's Day using black pigment ink. I used clear embossing powder and my heat tool to set the powder. I also strung ribbon to be used as a handle.

This project was very easy to create and done in less than 30 minutes.

I hope I have inspired you become creative today. Happy crafting!!!!! ♥

Valentine's die cut challenge

Hi there!
Welcome to my blog! Today for the Design Team our challenge was to use Valentine's die cuts.

I created this cute little treat box for Valentine's Day using the Art Philosophy cartridge.

I cut out the oval shaped box in this booklet at 10 inches using the fit to page feature. The pink paper is paper from my stash. I inked the edges using tulip ink from Close to My Heart.  I then cut out several hearts. I cut three hearts at 1 inch and two hearts at 2 inches. I used the Mad About You stamp set and stamped the hearts using tulip ink. I affixed the hearts on opposites sides of the box using 3D pop up dots. I used the You're Sweet sentiment from the same stamp set as well and stamped it onto a mini craft tag. This box does not need any adhesive to stay closed and it is tied closed with a ribbon. This treat box took all of twenty minutes to complete!

I hope that I have inspired you to become crafty today! ♥

Wide easel card

Here is another easel card that I created. A young woman from a paper craft group I belong to made this type of card and was kind enough to share her measurements with me. This card is just as easy as the other easel cards that I have made previously.

For the main part of the card you will need a piece of card stock that measures 8 x 11. You will score it at 2 3/4 inches and 5 1/2 inches. Fold it once, then fold it again into itself. You will also need a piece of card stock that measures 5 1/2 inches x 8 inches.
The winter time sentiment comes from some Cosmic Cricket paper from my stash. The red snowflake paper comes from a Recollections winter paper pack. I used the Winter Frolic cartridge for the boy sledding down the hill. The pearls are adhesive backed from Close to My Heart.

I hope that I have inspired you to become more creative! Happy Crafting! ♥

Love to Love You Tag

Here's a tag that I created with my husband in mind!

This was a tag that I had in my stash of paper. I LOVE using tags! ♥ The tag measures 6 1/4 x 3 1/4. (I believe I purchased it from Michael's). However, you could use your Art Philosophy
cart to make the tag...just cut it out at 3 1/4 inches.

I sprayed the tag with Glimmer Mist in the Caribbean Blue color. I used the Art Philosophy cart to cut out the roses using white card stock. The larger one is cut out at 5 inches and the two smaller ones are cut at 3 inches. I inked the roses with ink from CTMH in Juniper. I secured the roses with Liquid Glass also from CTMH. I used Stickles glitter glue in Star Dust around the edges of the roses after they were dried to give them a little more dimension. I stamped the sentiment Love to Love You using Cocoa ink. The sentiment comes from Close to My Heart from the Mad About You stamp set.

Aside from letting the glimmer mist and the roses dry after rolling them, this tag was created in less than 30 minutes!

Another easel card! ♥

Here is another easel card I made. I really like making them as they are sooooooo very easy to make!!!!! This one was made using the Winter Frolic cartridge. The Snow Day "sentiment" that I cut out came from some Cosmic Cricket paper that I received in a swap. The "snow angel" was cut out at 2 3/4 inches. The easel card was made using the same measurements as the previous easel card posted (see January 7th post). The pearls are adhesive backed pearls from CTMH

Happy New Year! - Easel Card

Happy New Year everyone!

Now that the holiday season is over, I can get back to creating and playing with paper! I was given a challenge to create a card called an easel card. I had never created one before because I was under the impression that they were difficult to create. Well I was WRONG, LOL! They are absolutely the easiest thing to make!

Here is what mine looks like:

Easel cards come in different sizes. But I will give you the info on how I made mine. Take a piece of card stock that measures 4 x 11. Score it 5 1/2 inches & 8 inches. You will also need two base pieces of card stock measuring about 4 x 5 1/2 inches. Fold the longer piece down and into itself again. When folded, the fold will create a triangle. Adhere one of the smaller pieces to the folded card stock and the other to the bottom of the folded card stock. Use one piece (or more, LOL) of embellishment to keep the card in place...and that will make your easel card! The cut comes from the Winger Frolic cartridge and the bling and sentiments are from  CTMH (Holiday Wishes Stamp Set). The green paper is from Recollections.

If you want more detailed instructions, shoot me an email and I'll send them to you! Enjoy!!!!! ♥
