Spring Bling-A-Ling Blog Hop!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Spring Bling-A-Ling Blog Hop!

Please start at the beginning with our host Suzanne!

Here is the line up so that you may check out ALL the wonderful projects!
5 Janet http://ladyluvbug.blogspot.com/<---------YOU CAME FROM HERE!
7 Julie www.thecricutchirp.com <----------- GO HERE NEXT!
9 Robin http://create-a-latte.blogspot.com/

Spring has been a little delayed here, but I've been busy crafting hoping Spring will arrive any day now. My first project is some Project Life filler cards. I honestly do not do Project Life, but I am participating in a swap with another group who does. I decided I could use the filler cards anyway with my SMASH folios.
The paper comes from Close to My Heart from the Buzz and Bumble paper pack. The hexagons and the sentiment come from Close to My Heart as well. The bee is a small Recollections stamp from Michael's. I used Tim Holtz distress inks (walnut stain, rusty hinge, antique linen) to stamp. There is also a little "shimmer" on the hexagons but it is hard to see in the photos.

Here they are:

I made quite a few of these and I will be giving away two sets of these filler cards to two followers. In order to receive a set of these cards, you have to:
A) Become a follower of my blog AND B) Leave a comment saying that you are following.

Please leave your email in the comments as well so that I may contact you if you are a winner. A winner
will be chosen on Wednesday, April 10th after 8PM
EST using random generator.

I've also been getting into mixed media art. My last two blog posts have been projects using mixed media. Although it is not "Spring" related, I love the way this project turned out!

 This is a 12 x 12 canvas that I purchased from
Michael's. I painted the canvas with acrylic paints. I used a variety of rubber stamps (Hero Arts, Inkadinkadoo) to stamp on the canvas. I used two wooden time pieces to use as centers for the watch. The gears were cut from the Artiste cartridge at 2 1/4 inches and 3 inches using heavy chipboard. I used Pewter distress stain to give the gears a polished look. I didn't make it even because I wanted the gears to have the look of having been used. I also used my newsprint rubber stamp and used distress ink to give the gears some dimension. The steam punk tags come from Graphic45. I used some lace and some musical notes washi tape as well. The keys are from Michael's and have a little bling in the handle of the keys. I hope that you have enjoyed your visit and that you have been inspired to create!

Don't forget to leave a comment on all of the blogs in this hop to win this fabulous prize being sponsored by our host Suzanne.

PLEASE GO TO JULIE NEXT!

Close to My Heart December Blog Hop - Pear and Partridge

Hi all!

Welcome to the Damask Divas December Blog Hop!

If you've just come from Melissa Thompson then you are on the right track. If you haven't, please start at the beginning of the hop with our team leader Mandy Leahy

This month the team is focusing on the Pear and Partridge paper pack exclusive to Close to My Heart.

Here are some projects that I have created using this wonderful paper pack and using the Cricut cartridges Artiste and Art Philosophy.

The ornament on this card comes from the Art Philosophy cartridge...

I used a square punch on strips of paper to create banners. The glittered letters are glittered thickers...

I used the tree cut on page 56 of the book from the Artiste cartridge. The ornaments were hand decorated by me!

I cut this hexagon box at 3 1/4 inches. It is also from the Artiste cartridge. The ribbon came from Michael's. Inside this lovely box is one of the above ornaments that I will be giving as gifts.

I hope that you have enjoyed my projects! ♥

Next you should visit Ashley. Happy Hopping!

If you want to purchase any of this beautiful paper, you can purchase it HERE!

If not, please go and start from the beginning at http://wwwpaperkraftsunlimiteddesings.blogspot.com
Blog Hop Giveaway is............ $10.00 Gift Card fom Ginger Snaps Scraps.

Here is what I came up with: Here is a little "flower girl" basket I made without even using my Cricut Expression. As much as I love my Expression, sometimes I just want to use some paper and make something quick! Well, it doesn't get any quicker than this!!!

I started out with a 12 x 12 piece of card stock and cut it down to 9 x 9. You will also need a one inch strip of contrasting paper for the handle.Score at three and six inches ----- but only score three inches down. Turn the paper 180 degrees and repeat.
Cut the score line. You are going to have what looks like flaps. Fold the flaps with a bone folder for a more crisp fold.
Using an ATG adhesive or a double sided tape, take two ends and bring them to one another with the third flap in the middle. The middle flap with fold up on the inside of the two flaps. Secure the end and then do the other side. Take the one inch strip and adhere it to the inside of the "basket". You can then embellish it. I used some pink ribbon and some flowers that I had in my stash. This little basket was sooo easy to make. It took less than 30 minutes from beginning to end!

The patterned paper came from Close to My Heart from the Sweetheart paper pack. If you want to purchase that paper or any of the other paper from CTMH, you can purchase it >>>>>HERE<<<<<

Yesterday was my nephew's birthday. Yes, he was born on Cinco de Mayo! He turned seven years old. He is my little buddy because we like a lot of the same things! I made this two page layout because I know I'm going to have some pictures of him and I celebrating his birthday.

I used Cindy Loo, A Word Party and Potpourri Basket to create this layout.

I used my gypsy for the balloons. The balloons were cut out from A Word Party at 3 inches. I layered the word "party" on top of the balloons using the font from Cindy Loo. The font is approximately 2 1/2 inches. The twine I used for the balloons came from 3 Girls Jam. The party hat, the ice cream cone and the gift all come from Potpourri Basket and was cut out at 4 inches. I cut them all out on white paper and colored them using my copic markers. The streamers came from Elmo's Party.

Thanks for looking! Please make sure you visit each stop during the hop!

Arbor Day Blog Hop

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
...Alfred Joyce Kilma

In the News: Arbor Day celebrated in Clarksville, 'Tree City USA' as quoted in their local paper
"I have a saying that trees are one of our utilities, and the reason I say that is because they help clean the air, they help control rainwater runoff, they convert carbon dioxide into oxygen," he said. "What we really have when we have a line of trees around the city is a utility that provides good things for the population without having any cost associated with it."

Today, we are celebrating the wonderment of trees and we welcome you in our celebration. If you are just visiting me, I would love for you to have a good "roots" with our hop and start at the beginning of our seedling which is at. If you have arrived from                                     then don't "bark" up the wrong tree as you are standing in our midst!

Now for my project...

I've been reading over the years that there has been a serious decline in the bee population. Bees are extremely important, especially in regards to our food chain. Without bees, many of the foods that we depend upon will no longer exist. So, I decided to create this frame called "Trees need bees".
I took a regular frame and covered it with paper from Close to My Heart using modge podge. This paper comes from the Mayberry paper pack. The bees and trees come from the Create a Critter cartridge.  I cut out two bees, the shadow and the layers at 2 3/4 inches. I also cut out three trees. The two smaller trees are cut at 2 3/4 inches. The larger tree is cut out at 3 1/4 inches.

I used Stickles on the wings of the bee. The color of the Stickes is waterfall.

I welded the phrase "Trees need bees" on my cricut gypsy. The top font is from Art Philosophy Cartridge from Close to My Heart. The "bees" is from Gypsy font. If you want to purchase the Art Philosophy cartridge, you can purchase it HERE. I used a white gel pen to create the faux stitching.

I also used liquid pearls so the trees would look as though they were bearing fruit (thanks to the bees).

Thank you for visiting us today as we celebrate the loveliness of our trees. Your next stop along our trail is  Lori ~ http://scrappinmystressaway.blogspot.com/Thank you for counting our rings and not stumping along the way!

100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop - April

I hope you all are having fun with the hop! Here are my projects for this weekend's hop!

My first project I used Celebrate with Flourish. I created this invitation for someone who wanted to do something nice for her husband. I cut the wine bottle and the layers at 3 inches. I colored the glasses and added the wine using my Copic markers.  The "You're Invited" is from Potpourri Basket.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

My second project was originally going to be a scrapbook layout. However, I just couldn't get it to look the way I wanted, So I opted to make this an invitation for a party.

I cut the "wizard", the layers, and the fairy tale sentiment at 2 1/2 inches.  I used gold stickles on the crown, the wand, and wizard hat to add some dimension. I colored everything with my Copic Markers.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

My third and final project is a treat bag I made using the Art Philosophy cartridge.

I cut the bag at 12 1/2 inches using the fit to page feature. After assembling the treat bag, I adhered eggs to the treat bag, which also are on the Art Philosophy cart. The eggs were all cut at two inches and decorated with liquid pearls. (If you want to purchase the Art Philosophy Cartridge, you can purchase it HERE).

I hope that I have inspired you to become more creative! Please visit next Teresa @

Hi everyone! This is my project for the 100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop!

I used three cartridges for this cute little takeout box. I used Art Philosophy, Plantin Schoolbook and Lyrical letters. I cut the takeout box at 12 1/2 inches using the fit to page feature on the expression from the Art Philosophy cart. (If you want this cartridge you can purchase it HERE OR you can earn this FABULOUS cart for FREE from HERE).  I cut the roses from that cart as well at 3 inches. On my gypsy, I used Lyrical Letters to weld and cut the "4 you" sentiment. The sentiment was cut at 2 1/2 inches. The oval was cut from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The roses and the oval are adhered to the takeout box using pop up dots.

Thank you for visiting my blog! The next stop on the blog hop is
